Makes sense, right? Christmas is over, back at school, it's cold, it's dark and most of all it's a Monday!
It's not something I've ever paid attention to before; I'm young, I've got a good life, nice family, all that. What have I got to be depressed about? This has made me realise that feeling depressed, or sad or "blue", isn't about not having good things in your life, it's about not being able to appreciate those things no matter how good they are.
This blue Monday was a struggle. I didn't want to get up, couldn't be bothered with school work, was vile to my sister and stayed in my pyjamas all day. I thought mum would be annoyed, but she was actually really cool. She told me not to stress about the school work, brought me hot chocolate, watched Netflix with me and later she made me do some Joe Wicks.
All of that really helped to lift my mood a little and today I'm feeling a bit more positive. There are things you can do to help you feel better; little things that can have big results. For me the best thing has been to recognise how I'm feeling and to let people know. Talk to people you trust, because, believe me, you'll be surprised how many people will understand.
