Proposed Multi Academy Trust
Final Consultation on Multi Academy Trust Proposal
As you will be aware we have been working for some time with Belvidere School and Mary Webb School to form a multi-academy trust (MAT) of three secondary schools. I am pleased to inform you that the Department for Education has approved our application to establish the MAT and an Academy Order has been issued for each school.
All three of the schools in the proposed MAT are successful schools, and we have worked together for many years through the Shrewsbury Partnership for Education and Training.
Our vision is for a MAT where the three schools can collaborate on a wide range of issues but retain their own independence and identities. We would like to reassure parents and carers that the schools will operate largely as they do now.
We are aware that some time has elapsed since our consultation period in the Spring Term of 2017, and of course we have some new students and their parents/carers who have joined our schools since that time. We are therefore extending our consultation period for another six weeks, to run from today, 13th February, until Tuesday 27th March.
If you would like to express any views on the proposed Multi Academy Trust, you are welcome to do so by emailing email@example.com.
The Governing Body will consider any responses, alongside those from the first consultation window, before making the final decision whether to proceed with conversion to academy status.
