Snorkelling and Scuba Diving

A number of students and the MBS community have been given the opportunity to learn to Scuba dive thanks to a Partnership between MBS & Shrewsbury School.

The sessions which started at the beginning of January 2011 as a one off trial session to gauge interest, have proven to be a great success. Scuba Diving is now a regular club, meeting on a Wednesday evening. Special thanks to all involved in this superb opportunity for both students and the school community.

There is also a Try Dive for Adults on Wednesday 2nd February 2011 from 7pm - 8.30 pm, cost: £10 per person. Location: Shrewsbury School Pool.

Due to the nature of the activity, numbers are limited; therefore if your son/daughter missed out this time, they'll be please to know we shall be continuing this activity again.

For more information please see Mrs Ruth Leach, or get a letter from the P.E department.

Please note: Pupils must be 12 years old to attend the sessions, as this is an out of school activity; students need to make their own way to and from Shrewsbury School Pool.

Own a Pony session

Due to adverse weather, the Own a Pony Day in the Christmas break was postponed, the new date for this is Wednesday 23rd February 2011. The session will run from 9.15 - 12.45. Out of School Activities

Do SomethingGood and Fun! - Taking part in activities out of school

All schools in England have been involved in an exciting government scheme. The scheme aims to enable more children to take part in out of school activities.

We appreciate that one of the barriers for children not attending out of school/out of term activities can be due to costs. Don't miss out! This funded is waiting to be used!

The government has allocated a new grant, for children who are Eligible for Free School Meals or are being Looked After. The grant is so that children can take part in additional out of school activities. If your child qualifies and he / she would like to take part in an activity, we would like to discuss with you the sort of activity that your child is interested in. It may be an activity listed above or something completely different! It could even be an activity your child is currently attending that you are funding privately.
