Dear Carer/Parent

KEY STAGE 4 STUDY PROGRAMME

Your daughter/son will receive a copy of the Study Programme for Years 10 and 11 in assembly on Wednesday 28^th January 2009.  In the booklet I have outlined the core curriculum followed by all students, and the option choices available for each student.  There are also details about the programme of study for each subject.

Guidance will be given by form tutors in tutor period on Thursday 29^th January 2009 and by subject teachers about which subjects might be most suitable for each student, however the school can only run an option course if enough students choose it.

We will be holding a Key Stage 4 Information Session for parents and students on Thursday 29^th January at 6.00pm in the Hall.  I will be explaining various aspects of the Study Programme, members of departments will be available to answer subject specific question and Connexions (the career service) will also be present.

Students will be asked to make their choices by completing the Option Form to be issued on 29^th January. This will need to be completed and returned to form tutors by Friday 27^th   February 2008.

If you would like any further guidance or advice please contact the school.  Members of the Leadership Team will be available at the Year 9 Parents' Evening on Thursday 19^th March to answer individual questions.
